THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN CAPE TOWN | SOUTH AFRICA
TABLE MOUNTAIN
The cruise ship arrived in Cape Town at around 7:00 o'clock in the morning. As I'm standing at the back of the ship in the open deck, I was amazed of how this city is composed of mountains and in front of it are buildings. It's a fun hip city with an amazing backdrop, isn't that cool? I even forget that I'm on duty that time, feels like I just want to stay outside and stare at this beautiful view in front of me like OA! It's just so breathtaking! According to some South African colleagues, Table Mountain is really famous because of its straight cliffs and a long flat summit (hence the name). Looks like easy to climb, right? But don't underestimate the climb, it'll take you few hours to reach the top. If you're not the sporty type person, they said that you can ride a cable car going up and it costs 290R (rand) = 23$
Too bad, was not able to experience that due to lack of time again.
V&A WATERFRONT
Since we can't make it anymore to climb Table Mountain, we just decided to stroll around at V&A Waterfront. I didn't expect that this place will leave me in awe. Everything here is picture perfect, from buildings, hanging bridges, unique interior of restaurants, those different yachts by the harbor, clock tower, huge shopping mall, a ferris wheel, and many more! The ambiance and the view feels like I'm in a different dimension. Now, I'll let the photos do the storytelling.
Souvenir shops
The waterfront area has an underground parking, an amphitheatre, a large Ferris wheel (The Cape Wheel), sculptures of South Africa’s Nobel Peace Prize laureates in Nobel Square, cinemas, a running route, a fitness studio, a diamond museum, spa, cocktail lounge, food market, music and art workshops, Chavonnes Battery Museum, cafes and restaurants. You can also take cruises from the waterfront around the harbor. There is free WiFI on the V&A Waterfront.
Wish I could go back there. I want to ride the Cape Wheel and take the cruise around the harbor for the next visit. Anyways, first time to be there and I'm satisfied of all the things I've seen for now at Cape Town.
Happy travels!
